About the Role: As a member of the R&D team, your mission will be to reliably maintain the quality of machine vision read rates and software configurations across our network of sites in Canada and the US. You’ll also be a subject matter expert on our proprietary technologies, software and hardware applications, and you will partner with internal teams to troubleshoot and develop solutions to technical issues. Job Accountabilities: Design, program and implement imaging systems, hardware, and software applications for various applications. Research and evaluate new technologies and methods for improving machine vision image quality, performance, and functionality. Work assigned projects from start to completion. Collaborate with engineers, software developers, and customers to understand the requirements and specifications of the various imaging solutions. Perform testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of our imaging systems and software. Resolve escalated issues as a subject matter expert and support ticket resolution for our customers. Maintain read rates and configuration performance across our site network. Document designs, architecture, and system integrations as required. Present solutions and results to both internal and external key stakeholders. Explore, evaluate, recommend, and implement new technologies to maximize efficiency and effectiveness on new and existing product ideas. Apply industry best practices, along with your knowledge and expertise, to execute ideas from concept to delivery, as a member of a collaborative and agile team. Job Requirements: University Degree or diploma in Computer Science, computer engineering or related degree, diploma, and/or applicable work experience. Experience with image processing and/or optics. Strong knowledge and experience in lighting and imaging principles, machine vision techniques, and algorithms. Proficient in programming languages, such as C, C++, C# and python. Excels at solving problems, are motivated and methodical, and have high attention to detail. Support what you build and understand that building applications is more than just writing code. Working with your development team and the support team, you are passionate about ensuring applications continue delivering value long after deployment. Write clean, reliable, and secure code (C, C++, C#) and believe in following coding best practices.
