Job summary
Forgeahead is currently looking for a Technical Lead and Senior Software Engineer (not an existing vacancy) for our offices located at 7404 King George Blvd, Unit 228 in Surrey, British Columbia. This is a permanent, full-time position, based on 40 hours per week. Work hours will be from 9:00am until 5:00pm, Monday to Friday
What you’ll do
• Acting as technical lead for the Canadian team, which includes testing products, identifying bugs, and providing design and architectural solutions; • Evaluating clients’ technical requirements and business needs to recommend the most appropriate Forgeahead solution; • Building software architecture and systems using Forgeahead’s specialized processes and configurations; • Determining the most suitable design pattern and code architecture for each project, and translating designs to build high performance, reusable, and reliable code; • Writing, modifying and integrating code; • Utilizing Forgeahead’s specific processes and procedures to evaluate, test, and troubleshoot designs; • Ensuring final products meet client requirements, and are in compliance with Forgeahead’s standards and best practices; • Maintaining and updating software architecture and code in accordance with Forgeahead’s unique configurations and implementation processes; and • Maintaining up-to-date, in-depth proprietary knowledge of Forgeahead’s specialized products and solutions to provide optimal client service.
Requirements
• Successful completion of a Bachelor degree in software engineering, computer science, or a related field. • At least 3 years of hands-on experience as a software engineering technical lead. • Proficient working with both relational database technologies (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MSSQL, and MariaDB) and non-relational technologies (MongoDB and Redis). • Hands-on working experience with large highly scalable Cloud-native application development. • Proven experience in deployment and automation using Docker/Containerization, Jenkins, and Terraform • Strong proficiency in JavaScript, CSS, HTML5, Python, TypeScript, React/React Native, GraphQL, jQuery, NodeJS, Bootstrap, Angular and AngularJS. • Prior experience working with ORM tools (i.e. Sequelize and Mongoose) and AI tools (i.e. AWS Kiro, Claude, and Cursor). • AWS certification in AI and/or Architect courses is preferred. • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills. • Ability to communicate clearly and confidently about technical requirements. • A positive attitude, willing to dive into what is needed for our mutual success.
