THE ROLE The Data Analyst supports the products and purchasing team by ensuring data accuracy through system management and delivering reporting and analysis. You’ll manage the consistency and accuracy of data across systems, provide insights to the products and purchasing team, and partner cross-functionally with the operations group. A primary focus is ensuring data is analyzed and delivered to key stakeholders in a way that maximizes and empowers strategic decision-making. We’re a cannabis company, and while previous cannabis-industry experience isn’t required, an enthusiasm for learning about the industry and the product matters. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Manage the point-of-sale back end and data warehouse to ensure the consistency and quality of information Support the centralized ordering process for our growing network of stores across two provinces Provide support for demand planning and product performance analysis Maintain regular reports, interpreting data and results to provide analysis and insights Design and develop reports and KPI dashboards, aggregating data from multiple sources using Power BI and other data-visualization tools Identify, analyze and interpret trends and patterns in detailed data sets Communicate cross-functionally with different business units and experience levels to understand the big picture and facilitate healthy information flow Learn — continuously — and help others learn too WHAT YOU BRING Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (required) 2+ years in a Data Analytics, Supply Chain Management or Accounting / Finance capacity Proficiency in data manipulation and analysis using common enterprise tools (MS Excel, Power BI, data warehousing, queries, etc.) A fundamental problem-solving orientation, an eye for detail and a conscientious work ethic Analytical ability, deductive reasoning and critical-thinking skills with a focus on detail and accuracy Ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders Results-oriented, with a focus on goal setting to meet and / or exceed budgets and KPI targets Strong communication and presentation skills, able to translate big ideas and complex market developments into digestible sound bites Experience in an inventory-management role (an asset) Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (an asset) WORK ENVIRONMENT This position operates in an office environment PHYSICAL DEMANDS Occasional prolonged and irregular hours Repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of a computer Ability to maintain composure under periods of stress TRAVEL Very minimal travel required
