Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Financial Controller plays a key role in the organization’s financial management. He or she contributes to the reliability of financial information, the optimization of processes, and the rigorous monitoring of projects. Responsibilities/Challenges: * Responsible for day-to-day accounting activities (month-end closing, reconciliations, journal entries); * Validate terms and conditions of revenue contracts; set up revenue contracts and financial projects in the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system; coordinate invoicing; prepare claims for government contracts; * Ensure the preparation of financial statements and management reports; * Participate in budget development and budget monitoring; * Ensure financial monitoring of projects (revenue, costs, margins); * Manage and optimize project-based accounting processes; * Collaborate with internal teams to monitor various funding sources; * Ensure the completion of financial audits and regulatory compliance; * Ensure the application of and compliance with current accounting standards; * Manage commercial insurance; * Establish and maintain strong relationships with financial institutions; * Produce financial analyses to support strategic decision-making; * Implement and improve internal controls; * Support the finance team in all projects; Qualifications: * Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field; * At least 7 years of experience; * Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation; * Experience in project-based financial management or in a multi-funding environment (strong asset); * Knowledge of ERP systems such as Netsuite (a significant asset); * Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP function); * Expertise in process documentation. * Bilingualism required due to Canada-wide responsibilities Skills: * Interest in and proficiency with software; * Strong organizational skills and the ability to structure one’s work independently; * Ability to thrive in a complex and ever-changing environment; * Demonstrates leadership and problem-solving skills.
