You’ll be visible on the floor, involved with your team, and trusted with the responsibility of opening and closing the store. This role is a step up from associate level – you’ll lead and develop a team, manage department performance, make recommendations to the Store Manager, and handle the day-to-day decisions that keep things running smoothly. It suits someone who is confident leading others, thrives in a fast-paced retail environment, and is ready to grow their career in store management. What You’ll Be Doing People Leadership * Leading your team to build strong relationships with customers and deliver exceptional service every shift * Managing associate performance through development, coaching, recognition, and ongoing feedback * Monitoring daily team activities and providing guidance whenever needed * Ensuring department staffing levels meet business needs – following up on call-ins and finding replacements as required * Assisting with employee recruitment, orientation, promotion, retention, and termination activities Department & Store Operations * Maintaining your assigned department to a high standard – strong merchandising, product knowledge, and a 100% in-stock position * Making recommendations to the Store Manager on inventory, overhead organization, and cross-merchandising opportunities to drive sales * Reviewing reports on sales, open orders, transfers, and open purchase orders * Communicating store sales, events, and promotional activities to your team * Completing regular store walks to identify service or security gaps and address operational needs * Maintaining and initiating the Grand-Open Readiness Checklist * Opening and closing the store responsibly, including the security of keys and alarm codes entrusted to you Customer Experience & Compliance * Investigating, resolving, and escalating customer issues as appropriate – you’re empowered to make it right * ensuring compliance with WorkSafeBC and Asset Protection Standards – protocols are clearly communicated and consistently followed by your team What We’re Looking For Here’s what will set you up for success in this role: * Minimum 2 years of retail sales associate experience * 1-2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience * A natural people leader – you motivate, develop, and hold your team accountable with confidence and care * Strong customer service skills and a genuine commitment to delivering an exceptional experience * Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail – you can think on your feet and escalate when needed * High level of integrity, responsibility, and confidentiality in all aspects of store operations * Availability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, and weekends * Proficiency with retail systems and reporting tools is an asset If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.
