Role Description The Environmental Consultant is a full-time, on-site role based in Abbotsford, BC. This position involves conducting field assessments, collecting environmental data, and supporting environmental impact assessments for various land use and development projects. The consultant will prepare clear, accurate reports, communicate findings to clients, and assist in developing strategies that align with regulatory standards and best practices. Daily tasks include collaborating with internal QEPs and external stakeholders, reviewing environmental compliance requirements, and providing practical recommendations to optimize land productivity while maintaining environmental integrity. The role also requires staying current with relevant environmental legislation, guidelines, and industry trends. Qualifications Strong environmental science foundation, with knowledge of Environmental Science and Environmental Consulting principles. Experience conducting Environmental Impact Assessment and Environmental Compliance reviews for land development or agricultural projects. Proficiency in Report Writing, including the ability to present technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Relevant post-secondary degree or diploma in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geography, or a related field. Ability to perform fieldwork in varying conditions and interpret environmental data using standard tools and methodologies. Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with landowners, developers, farmers, regulators, and internal teams. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Familiarity with regional and federal environmental regulations applicable to land use and development; previous consulting experience is an asset.
