Step Into a Role Where Your Experience Gets Used GCS Group runs active telecom HDD crews out of Red Deer and we need an Intermediate Telecom HDD Locator who can hold their own on a busy job site. At this level we're looking for someone who has moved past the basics — you know SubSite, you've worked alongside drill operators, and you can manage a locate from start to finish without constant direction. We keep our crews working. Telecom infrastructure projects in Alberta aren't slowing down and neither are we. Key Responsibilities Independently execute locate duties on telecom HDD bores across central Alberta Set up, calibrate, and operate SubSite locating systems on each bore Maintain active communication with Ditch Witch drill operators throughout bore operations Identify utility conflicts and ground anomalies and communicate them immediately Record bore data accurately and support field documentation requirements Provide guidance to junior locators on site regarding equipment and procedures What We're Looking For Solid field experience in HDD locating on telecom or utility construction projects Proven hands-on competency with SubSite locating technology Comfortable working in coordination with Ditch Witch drill crews All certifications must be current and verified prior to your start date Self-directed with strong situational awareness on active construction sites Valid driver's licence What's on the Table Above-average hours on sustained telecom project work Wages matched to your field experience Company benefits Annual Christmas bonus based on individual performance Full LOA and accommodations covered for those 100+ km from the work site REQUIRED CERTIFICATES Ground Disturbance Level 2 training certification; CSTS 2020 training certification If you're at the point in your career where you want the work to match your ability, GCS Group delivers that. Requirements
