TheCanada Tax Manager opening is a current vacant position at General Dynamics Land Systems – Canada. The base salary hiring range for this position is $132,000 to $173,000 per year. Once in the role, successful candidates will have the opportunity to progress through the full salary range based on performance. This range reflects the base salary only and does not include additional components of our total compensation package, such as our incentive award program and other rewards like health benefits, employee profit-sharing, retirement savings, and more. Key Job Elements Ability to effectively communicate complex tax matters to allow non-tax business leaders to understand the risks, opportunities and strategies involved in tax matters Building internal and external relationships Closely work with Combat and CHQ tax team to provide innovative tax planning strategies in compliance with laws and regulations Manage corporate tax compliance in all jurisdictions, including income taxes and commodity taxes Oversee the computation of the annual Scientific Research and Experimental Development tax credit claim Manage the quarterly and annual income tax provision process Responsible for tax cash forecasting Oversee all international tax matters including transfer pricing Research and documentation of technical issues that arise on an on-going basis. Keep current on all tax legislation and administrative changes and effectively communicate any impact to the organization Implement process/system improvements Train staff, review and evaluate their work Required Qualifications CPA designation Completion of In-Depth Tax Course or Masters of Tax Five+ years’ experience in Canadian tax Able to develop strong working relationships with all levels of individuals and work effectively in a team environment Detail oriented & ability to multi-task Strong accounting and analytical skills Strong computer skills: proficiency in Tax software, Excel, Word, Powerpoint Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills Supervisory experience (2 years plus) Working Conditions: Nature of Supervision: Minimal (Self-directed work) Physical Environment: Office Hazards: NA Physical Demands Description: Usual mobility demands required are standing, walking, sitting, and stair climbing to access upper offices. Equipment Utilized: Computer Phone Mobile device Medical Surveillance: May include: Anthropometrical Size Restrictions depending on task Personal Protective Equipment: Applicable when interacting with shop floor (safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection. extraction coveralls)
