As our new Survey Assistant, located in Yorkton, Saskatchewan you are passionate about spending time in the field. This position requires a quick and engaged learner, with proven success in adaptability, productivity, and high physical abilities. You also have a strong handle on equipment and field tools, with a healthy respect for the outdoors, while timely completing the task at hand. What you will do: * Arrive at work on time and prepared for the assigned task and shift. * Assist with various tasks as required, track and maintain housekeeping of tools, equipment and materials at project sites, office and in crew vehicles. * Support a positive and professional team atmosphere and acts as a positive ambassador for the company. * Assist Crew Chief in achieving project timelines and deliverables. * Complete mandatory safety training and practice competent operation of all equipment and tasks. * Adhere to, without exception, the safety requirements of the client, OH&S and the GeoVerra Safety program. * Actively participate in Emergency Response Planning, Hazard Assessment, Job Safety Analysis development, daily tailgate meetings and comply with all safety requirements. What you will bring: * Diploma/Degree in Geomatics or Civil Engineering Technology, or related discipline preferred, not required. * Previous experience in Surveying or other related types of work in the great outdoors. * Ability and willingness to travel regularly for the client, project, and GeoVerra requirements. * Commitment to respond to situations that occur outside traditional working hours. * Capacity to take directions and communicate effectively. * An understanding of survey methodologies is considered an asset. * A valid Class 5 driver’s license and a clean driver’s abstract and background check. * Completed training and valid tickets in First Aid, H2S and CSTS safety training is an asset. * Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol screening as per the limits provided in the Canadian Model for Providing a Safe Workplace Job conditions * Travel may be required and possible out-of-town work. * Ability to carry, lift and push 50lbs on a regular basis. * Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
