Job summary

Gerrits Engineering Limited is seeking an Electrical Engineer responsible for planning, design, execution, and delivery of electrical engineering projects. The successful candidate will contribute across all project phases, provide technical leadership, and support high-quality, cost-effective, and compliant project delivery while ensuring client satisfaction. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Plan, design, and deliver electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, lighting controls, fire alarm system, communications, access control, and emergency power • Prepare engineering drawings, BIM/Revit models, specifications, reports, and cost estimates • Perform engineering calculations, system studies, building condition reports and equipment selection • Manage projects or act as discipline lead, ensuring delivery within scope, schedule, and budget • Participate in all project phases from concept and design to tender and construction administration • Review shop drawings, RFIs, and contractor submittals for compliance• Conduct site visits, inspections, and construction meetings • Coordinate with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams • Prepare proposals, technical reports, and project documentation • Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (OBC, OESC, CEC, CSA, NFPA) • Support and mentor junior staff CORE COMPETENCIES • Project management and organizational skills • Attention to detail and quality control • Ability to work independently and collaboratively • Strong client-focused mindset • Commitment to continuous improvement and professional developmentcodes and standards • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills COMPENSATION Competitive salary range: $90,000 – $110,000 annually, aligned with experience, licensure, and responsibilities. QUALIFICATIONS • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario or eligibility • 3–8 years of experience in consulting electrical engineering • Experience designing building electrical systems• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office
