Job summary
About the role We’re a holding company that owns and operates a portfolio of businesses across several industries. You'll support the day-to-day work of running the company and its portfolio, reporting directly to the Director of Operations, with exposure across finance, hiring, portfolio operations, and helping stand up brand-new businesses from the ground up. You'll be the person who keeps things moving. The work shifts week to week: finance one day, recruiting the next, a website fix or a portfolio company meeting after that. If you like variety and want to understand how a portfolio of businesses runs, this is a rare seat to land two years out of school. Why this role You'll get a front-row seat to how a holding company operates, working close to the finances, the hiring, and the projects leadership cares about most. That kind of range is hard to find early in a career, and it's a fast way to figure out where you want to specialize, whether that's finance, operations, or something else entirely. You'll also get real mentorship and the kind of ownership that sets you up to move fast. There's a lot of room to grow from here, either into running one of the portfolio companies yourself or into more senior work across the holding company. What you'll do Finance and books: support accounting, help the team through tax season, and manage executive travel and expenses Hiring: source candidates and help run recruiting for roles across the portfolio New ventures: work hands-on with the team to incubate and launch new businesses, like Hire with Near and Bedrock QoE Portfolio support: draft letters, sit in on meetings, and handle one-off projects for the operating companies Operations: website edits, virtual mailbox management, and building agendas for company offsites What we're looking for Around 2 years of work experience, ideally in an operational role A degree from a Canadian university Based in Canada and able to work remotely Available during Central time hours for daily check-ins and portfolio meetings Sharp attention to detail, comfort juggling several projects at once, and discretion around sensitive financial and personnel information
