About the company Our client is an established, growing manufacturing and project-based business in the Fraser Valley. They’re adding an Accounting Manager to their leadership team, someone who wants to have a real impact on how the business runs and grows. The role This is a hands-on leadership role. You’ll lead a small accounting team while staying close to the day-to-day work. You’ll partner with senior leadership on business decisions and work closely with operations to keep billing accurate, costs tracked and cash flowing. What you’ll do Oversee full-cycle accounting, including AP, AR, payroll and month-end close. Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management reports. Manage project billing, including deposits, progress billing, holdbacks and change orders. Monitor and forecast cash flow, and manage banking and supplier credit relationships. Handle GST/PST, payroll remittances and other filings. Build and maintain strong internal controls and processes. Lead, coach and develop the accounting team. Work with operations and sales to improve workflows and make sure all project costs are captured. Take part in leadership meetings and planning sessions. What you bring An accounting diploma or degree. A CPA designation or progress toward one is an asset, not a requirement. 10+ years of accounting experience in an operating company (industry, not public practice). Experience leading or mentoring a small team. Senior accountants ready to step up are welcome. Experience with project, job-cost or progress billing in manufacturing, construction or a similar environment. A hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves approach, with the confidence to own the finance function. Strong communication skills and a team-first, solutions-focused attitude.
