MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience. * 2 years of experience programming in C++. * 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields. * 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms. * Experience in Web or desktop application development, full-stack development. * Experience developing accessible technologies. * Experience contributing to an open source project. * Experience with web browsers. You will work to grow the usage of Chrome on desktop platforms, ensuring that users always have the ability to choose to use Chrome on all of their devices. You will also design, build, and maintain the foundational features such as the tab strip, tab groups, toolbar, side panel, bookmarks, and other productivity features that enable users to navigate the web more effortlessly. Your work is crucial in shaping a modern, user-centric browser experience that simplifies complex tasks, reduces friction, and ensures Chrome remains the trusted, go-to choice on desktop platforms. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Work primarily in C++ and web technologies (HTML, CSS, TS/JS) to develop new features and enhance existing ones in Chrome Desktop, while contributing to the open-source Chromium project, interacting with developers and users across the globe, and learning from colleagues across Google. * Collaborate with your team implementing new features for Chrome Desktop. * Write high-quality code that meets Chrome's standards for performance and reliability. * Partner closely with UX experts to refine feature designs and create seamless interactions. * Run experiments and analyze results to make data-driven decisions.
