Role Reporting to the Assistant Deputy Minister, you will provide strategic leadership, direction and coordination of broad range of health care insurance programs and supports. Among other things, these include administering the Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan (AHCIP) for Albertans and the Out-of-County Health Services committee. You will be accountable for the legislative compliance as well as the strategic policy governance for the AHCIP and fiduciary responsibility for health care insurance expenditures. In this role you will be Alberta’s representative for interprovincial Health Insurance Agreements and administering the agreements. You will be responsible for developing strategic recommendations, options, policy and legislation. Your excellent communication and influential skills will lend to strong networks and relationships with complex stakeholders and partners. You have experience leading strong teams accountable for policy and program delivery and you demonstrate an understanding of government and department priorities. Qualifications Success in this role calls for a progressive leader with a background that includes significant related senior management leadership experience. You bring a strong understanding of health care insurance, business planning and business technology supports, understanding of governance practices as well as change management and strong fiduciary experience. You bring demonstrated experience leading complex programs as well as an ability to work effectively with stakeholders to manage diverse expectations and interests. You can demonstrate the ability to collaborate and influence change across multiple areas without direct authority. A respected leader with experience leading staff, you are committed to building strong lines of communication and trust as well as empowering your teams to achieve results through performance excellence. A related Bachelor’s degree is required. Salary $5,896.65 - $7,749.28 bi-weekly ($153,902.57 to $202,256.21 annually) Notes Final candidates will be required to undergo a security screening.
