The Ministry The Ministry of the Attorney General delivers justice services to Ontarians by: prosecuting crime; supporting victims of crime; providing decision-making and justice support services to vulnerable people; providing criminal, civil and family courts and related justice services that are efficient and effective; providing legal advice and services to government. • Follow us on Twitter The Branch The Facilities Management Branch (FMB) is responsible for stewardship of the second-largest real estate portfolio in the OPS, with over 7 million square feet and almost $500M in operating and capital costs. FMB supports divisional partners through capital investments that assist with achievement of program requirements. The branch also works directly with central agencies on improving asset management planning and creating a consistent approach to this planning across government. FMB's highly professional team manages the ministry's complex and challenging portfolio through evidence-driven work that includes: • Developing the capital components of the ministry's annual Strategic Planning Process (SPP) and 10-year long term plan to secure funding for the facilities renewal and P3 programs. • Developing architectural design standards for courthouses as well as guidelines, best practices and architectural proposals to support ministry and government initiatives. • Leveraging asset management data to prioritize project opportunities that promote the optimization of courthouse, office and program space. • Acting as the primary liaison with Infrastructure Ontario (IO), service providers, and external consultants during the development and design of capital projects. • Liaising with agencies and tribunals for all facility-related matters. • Managing the lease administration for all space occupied by the ministry (government-owned or leased). • Managing the project approval and delivery process. What you’ll do

About the job You will: • Lead the development and delivery of the ministry's asset management planning activities • Provide strategic planning, coordination and consultation with ministry clients, stakeholders and partners on capital projects • Provide strategic advice and recommendations to senior management on asset management and capital planning • Plan and coordinate research projects • Conduct jurisdictional scans to inform and support infrastructure planning and management • Develop performance measures; and • Conduct program planning, analytics and provide strategic portfolio advice. • Develop In-year and SPP Treasury Board submissions. • Plan, prioritize and monitor capital project opportunities and capital funding requests

Requirements

What you bring to the team Technical knowledge: You have the ability to understand and integrate: • practices of infrastructure and asset management planning • government facilities management policies and procedures to develop and review capital project proposals and business cases • ministry programs and policies to provide analysis on realty needs, statuses and cost estimates to assist with management decision making • financial forecasting models, analysis tools, and financial management policies and procedures to compare current and future capital project costs Research and analysis skills: You can: • apply statistical theories, principles and practices to perform needs analysis, interpret trends and forecast future requirements for the ministry • use business planning and organizational techniques to plan and conduct research to identify client needs and provide recommendations to senior management • analyze capital project proposals and business cases • research and synthesize data from multiple sources to propose infrastructure initiatives Communication and consultation skills: You can: • provide advice and recommendations to senior management on real estate property, lease trends, asset management and infrastructure planning. • develop briefing materials, reports, business cases and presentations for senior management • demonstrate proficiency in computer software such as spreadsheets, word processing, database information systems, graphics and desktop publishing Project management and planning skills: You can: • apply project management skills to lead multiple research studies and reviews • lead and develop an asset management plan to support capital planning and financial forecasting Don't meet every qualification?
