Our client in Kitchener is looking for an HR professional with experience in Health & Safety in a manufacturing environment! This position will start out on a Contract to Permanent basis with permanent hire for the successful candidate upon satisfactory completion of the probationary period! Hourly starting rate will be based on a salary between $50-55K. Excellent opportunity for growth in this role! Required Skills: 3-5 years of experience in an Human Resources role Experience in Health and Safety in a manufacturing environment Payroll experience is a MUST Experience with WSIB claims management is MUST as this company has "no lost time" incidents for the last 9 years. Education and Training is Human Resources or Health and Safety with a designation in either area is an ASSET Excellent communication skills and the ability to multi-task Strong supporter of safety in the workplace Experience with Safety Groups is an ASSET Job Responsibilities: Human Resources: Support staff to ensure they adhere to HR policies Develop or update policies, annual review and postings Recruitment Process new employee orientation correspondence Manage employee shift schedule Maintain payroll schedules Forecast and organize weekly temporary staffing requirements and process weekly payroll Process bi-weekly payroll for full time employees Approve, manage and track employee status notices Update job descriptions Post job openings and screen possible candidates Manage long term disability claims with the assistance of OMC payroll Process employee dental and medical benefits Manage attendance and disciplinary program Deal with employee and management issues or concerns Vacation planning and monitoring Wage analysis /competitive review/labour analysis/budget Maintain training matrix and planning Manage Fastenal Machine Access Manage Attendance Tracker and Scanning Machine Manage Training Matrix Maintain Shift Schedule Health and Safety: Manage JHSC members to ensure their goals are achieved in a timely manner Assist with corporate planning and forecasting Participate in EMC safety group Mentor and Manage the health and safety program Pre-Start Health and Safety Reviews Certified Member Develop or update policies, annual review and postings Maintain legislative requirements on Posting Board Maintain Qualified First Aiders and First Aid Room Monthly Workplace Audits (JHSC, Action Items, Minutes, Schedule) Waste Manifesting Program with Panda Disciplinary Tracking and Documentations Manage all WSIB Claims, Reporting, Monitoring and related Compliance If you have experience in HR and H&S, in a manufacturing environment, this role is for you!
