Job details
Overview Groupe Dynamite Inc. (GDI) is a Montréal-based, public company of integrated omni-channel brands, designing and distributing accessible, trend-forward fashion for women since 1975. Our mission of "Empowering YOU to be YOU, one outfit at a time" is brought to life through the GARAGE and DYNAMITE banners and represents the consumer-centric core of GDI's long-standing success as a leading retailer in North America. Today, GDI operates nearly 300 stores across Canada and the United States, as well as shoppable brand experiences at Garageclothing.com and Dynamiteclothing.com. Job Summary: The Brand Editor owns GARAGE’s brand storytelling—shaping seasonal narratives and turning product, cultural, and fashion insight into content across E-commerce, social, CRM, retail, and PR. This role partners closely with Marketing, Merchandising, Design, and Fashion Office to bring ideas from concept to execution, while building and protecting the GARAGE brand voice across every customer touchpoint. Main Responsibilities: Develop seasonal and monthly brand storylines that align with product priorities, cultural relevance, fashion trends, and the GARAGE point of view, expanding them into content across E-commerce, social, CRM, retail, and PR; Partner with Merchandising and Fashion Office to turn product knowledge, fabric innovations, and key selling points into elevated customer-facing storytelling, and lead naming across products, collections, campaigns, and storytelling moments; Act as the key connector across Marketing, Merchandising, Design, CRM, Social, and Creative—writing clear creative/editorial briefs and providing direction from concept through execution on static, video, and campaign assets; Own and evolve the GARAGE brand voice and editorial guidelines, reviewing customer-facing copy and messaging frameworks for consistency, and mentoring copywriters and creative partners. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Communications, Marketing, or a related field; 4+ years of experience in brand editorial, content strategy, or fashion journalism, ideally within retail or fashion; Proven track record developing and executing brand storylines and content across multiple channels, including E-commerce, social, CRM, retail, and PR; Strong point of view on fashion, cultural, and consumer trends, with the ability to translate them into brand-relevant content; Excellent writing, editing, and naming/copywriting skills, with a sharp eye for brand voice and tone; Experience partnering cross-functionally with Merchandising, Design, Marketing, and Creative teams to bring content from concept to execution; Ability to write clear creative and editorial briefs and provide direction throughout the creative process; Comfortable managing multiple projects at once and moving quickly from idea to execution; Experience mentoring or providing direction to copywriters or junior editorial team members is a plus. At GDI, you will be part of a growing organization that understands the importance of investing in people and offers you: A comprehensive compensation package that includes performance-driven bonuses; A group retirement savings program with employer matching; Flexible group insurance with personalized coverage that meets your needs; An employee discount at Garage and Dynamite; Exclusive private sample sales; A flexible vacation policy; And more! GDI has been repeatedly voted one of Montréal’s Top Employers and one of Canada’s Top Employers for Young People. Our promise… No day will be like the last—we aim to be better today than we were yesterday. We are committed to employment equity. Candidates that are retained will be called for an interview. #NR-LI1
