Health Outcomes Scientist (18 Month Contract)

The Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR) Team is seeking to fill a 18 month contract position for a Health Outcomes Scientist. This position will primarily support the GSK Vaccines therapy area but may support other GSK medicines/vaccines as needed. Health Outcomes Scientists are members of cross-functional teams (Medical Affairs, Government Affairs and Market Access, Regulatory, Marketing) and are responsible for designing and executing real world evidence and outcomes research to address data gaps relevant to reimbursement, access, and medical strategy in Canada. These responsibilities include some of the following: Lead, design, and oversee the real-world evidence and outcomes research program to address data gaps relevant to reimbursement submissions and market access, and to the launch of our innovative assets. Lead, design and adapt health economic models for submission to Canadian HTA bodies and payers. Disseminate research findings through national and international conference presentations and submission of peer reviewed manuscripts within high impact journals. Collaborate with local and global GSK colleagues to define data gaps and develop evidence generation strategies to close these gaps. Provide expert consultation to cross functional team members on study design, statistical analysis, and potential impacts of new research. Support complex decision making and strategic planning across the therapeutic area-specific portfolio. Influence the global research program to address Canadian research needs, where appropriate. Cultivate relationships with external experts in outcomes research and explore ongoing opportunities for collaboration Why You? Work arrangement This role is hybrid in our Mississauga office. Expect regular time in the office (typically 2–3 days per week) with flexibility for remote work when appropriate. Basic Qualifications We are seeking professionals with the following required skills and qualifications to help us achieve our goals: Masters and/or Ph.D. in a field related to health economics and outcomes research, epidemiology, public health, or biostatistics. Experience leading epidemiologic, health outcomes, or real-world observational research in Canada. Knowledge of health technology assessment processes and requirements in Canada. Experience with biostatistical methods, systematic reviews and meta-analyses. Knowledge of administrative and other Canadian databases that may be applied to address research questions relevant to GSK would be an asset Strong project management skills. Strong written, verbal, and oral presentation skills. The annual compensation for this role is CAD135,000 to CAD185,000 , determined based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity. The Health Outcomes Scientist will lead the design and execution of real-world evidence and outcomes research to support reimbursement and market access. They will also adapt health economic models and collaborate with cross-functional teams to address data gaps for innovative assets.

Candidates must hold a Master's or Ph.D. in a field related to health economics, epidemiology, public health, or biostatistics. Proven experience in leading epidemiologic or health outcomes research in Canada and knowledge of HTA processes are required.
