JOB SUMMARY Forklift Operator is responsible for the safe and timely unloading/loading, and storage of raw materials. The Forklift Operator will be tasked with driving and maintaining forklifts that will be assigned to you, as well will work closely with our team to meet production needs. We offer certification opportunities and career advancement. Experience in the construction industry is an asset. Our operators work full time. Evening and weekend hours vary during planting and harvest seasons. Overtime as required. Work hours will change based on seasonal requirements. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing material. * Operating a forklift to move raw materials and various products throughout facility. * Conduct pre-operational inspections. * Fill out paperwork for food safety and traceability purposes. * Adheres to all health and safety regulations set out by OHSA and the organization. * Reads production schedule, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed. * Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, or product code. * Labels materials with identifying information (lot and pallet tag number). * Complete other tasks as assigned. SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS Education/Certifications: * Highschool diploma * Valid forklift license – previous experience is required Skills: * Interpersonal Skills: Must be able to speak with fellow employees and department managers. * Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal. * Problem-Solving Skills: Must be able to quickly ascertain a situation and be decisive in solving it, such as identifying defects in their forklift and reporting it to the proper department. * Time Management: Able to face deadlines, such as filling the lines with product, unloading/loading trucks, etc. and must manage their time accordingly. Abilities: * Arm-hand steadiness * Manual dexterity * Control precision * Multi-limb coordination * Finger dexterity * Sound discrimination Physical Requirements: * Ability to lift to 50 lbs * Combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending
