Job summary
Under general supervision and direction, the technologist will perform a variety of laboratory procedures accurately, efficiently and safely while maintaining quality control and prioritizing workload. Duties include: processing, interpretation and reporting results for Microbiology specimens as per established policies and procedures. 1. Current Registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO) 2. Successful completion of an accredited MLT program 3. Recent experience in Microbiology required within last 5 years; to include proficiency in reading Gram stained smears, recognition of colonial morphology, identification of pathogens and reporting of susceptibility testing results. 4. Demonstrated knowledge of bio-safety principles. 5. Excellent communication, organizational and problem- solving skills

Requirements
Candidates must hold current registration with the CMLTO and have successfully completed an accredited MLT program. Recent experience in Microbiology within the last five years is required, along with demonstrated knowledge of bio-safety principles.
