Junior Estimator

Hansen Industries is looking to hire a detail-oriented candidate to fulfil the Junior Estimator position. Core Responsibilities Review customer drawings and generate estimates. Contact customers about Request for Quote. Authorize Customer Purchase Orders. Respond to phone messages and emails in a timely manner. Review completed jobs to assess actual times vs. estimates. Update estimates with routing request changes. Follow jobs through the shop and discuss with the Supervisor/Lead Hand/Manager estimated times and operations for a job so that the jobs run as planned. Qualifications & Requirements Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent training is preferred. 1-2 years’ work experience in manufacturing industry. Experience in the fabrication industry an asset. Ability to read engineering drawings (blueprints). Sales experience is an asset. Self-motivated/Self-starter with a professional and positive attitude. Ability to work under pressure. Good verbal and written communication skills in English. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects/ tasks. Attention to detail. Excellent Customer Services skills. What do we offer? The Junior Estimator is responsible for reviewing customer drawings to generate estimates and managing Request for Quote communications. They must track jobs through the shop and analyze actual production times against original estimates to improve accuracy.

A Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering is preferred, along with 1-2 years of experience in the manufacturing industry. Candidates must be able to read engineering blueprints and possess strong professional communication skills.
