Role Description The Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) is a full-time, on-site role based at Harbourfront Animal Hospital in Toronto, ON. The RVT will assist veterinarians in examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures, including patient preparation, monitoring, and recovery. Daily responsibilities include providing hands-on animal care, administering medications and treatments, performing laboratory tests, taking radiographs, and maintaining accurate medical records. The RVT will support anesthetic monitoring, ensure proper pain management, and follow established protocols for patient safety. The role also involves educating clients on pet care, preventive medicine, and post-visit instructions, as well as participating in general clinic upkeep and equipment maintenance. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong skills in Animal Care and Pet Care, including safe handling, restraint, and monitoring of patients. Candidates should possess skills in Veterinary Technology, such as laboratory procedures, radiography, medication administration, and medical recordkeeping. Candidates should possess skills in Client Education, including clear communication of treatment plans, preventive care, and home care instructions. Candidates should possess skills in Anesthesiology, including patient preparation, anesthetic monitoring, and recovery support under veterinary supervision. Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) designation in Ontario, or eligibility for registration. Experience in a small animal veterinary practice or clinical setting is preferred. Ability to work collaboratively in a team, manage multiple tasks, and maintain a calm, professional manner in a busy environment. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to low-stress, compassionate patient care.
