The Opportunity Reporting to the CEO, The Director of Fundraising will lead a comprehensive fundraising strategy that fuels the growth and sustainability of Variety Manitoba. In collaboration with the CEO, Board of Directors, donors, sponsors and community partners, this critical role will be responsible for securing the resources needed to make a lasting impact and difference in the lives of children and families across Manitoba. This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic fundraising professional who excels at building meaningful relationships, inspiring philanthropy and creating lasting community impact. Key Responsibilities Lead and enhance Variety Manitoba’s overall fundraising and development strategy. Manage a portfolio of major donors and prospects, achieving annual fundraising goals. Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors and philanthropic partners. Enhance corporate sponsorships, community partnerships, and philanthropic investment. Provide strategic leadership and oversight for Variety’s annual signature fundraising event and support community-driven campaigns. Research, Identify, develop and submit grant applications and proposals for funding opportunities. Serve as an ambassador for Variety within the community, building meaningful, long-term relationships with donors, sponsors, foundations and community leaders. Keep abreast of developments and trends in fundraising and adopt strategies as appropriate. Adhere to the legal, regulatory, and ethical fundraising and financial standards for charitable organizations. Selection Criteria Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar fundraising capacity. Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) designation or progress towards certification. Proven track record of creating and executing successful donor-centred strategic fundraising strategies. Experience building and stewarding a portfolio of donors and prospects. Proven success securing major gifts, sponsorship, partnerships or and/or grant revenue. Relationship-driven professional with the ability to foster meaningful, long-term relationships with donors, sponsors, foundations and community leaders. Superior strategic planning and project management skills. Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills; able to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders. Knowledge of Manitoba’s philanthropic, corporate, or non-profit landscape. Bilingualism (English/French or English/Indigenous language) is considered an asset.
