We collect and share 13 million pounds of food every year, which is sorted and packed and distributed to Manitobans through our Community Food Network of more than 380 food banks and agencies in Winnipeg, rural, northern and First Nations communities. We are seeking a Grant Coordinator to join our Development Team and play a key role in securing funding to support our mission. Reporting to the VP of Partnership and Development and working with the Fund Development manager, the Grant Coordinator will support, assist, and collaborate with the Development Team in prospecting, researching, and securing grants and foundation funding. This role is essential in identifying new funding opportunities, writing and managing grant applications, and ensuring compliance with funding requirements. Key Responsibilities • Alongside the VP of Partnerships and Development design and implement a strategic grant plan that aligns with Harvest Manitoba’s goals, focusing on current funding priorities • Identify and research potential grants and Foundation opportunities through database software and other resources, including networking events • Identifying opportunities for funding, write and complete the application with the support of relevant teams • Prepare compelling grant proposals to government agencies, foundations, corporations, and other funders. Tailor applications to meet each funder's unique requirements. • Manage grant calendar, track deadlines and the process of applications. Track and manage all grant activities in grant tracking software, ensuring compliance with all grant requirements, including financial reporting and program impact documentation. • Asist with ongoing communication with funders, including stewardship and impact reporting. • Proactively identify new donor prospects using external information, data mining and extensive relationship mapping, etc. • Track and report relationship activity including identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of prospective and current individual and corporate donors in Donor Perfect. Vision Working together towards a healthier future for all where no Manitoban goes hungry Qualifications & Experience • Post-secondary education in Communications, Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, or a related field is an asset. • 3 Years Proven experience in grant writing, fundraising, or nonprofit development. • Strong research, current writing, and communication skills with the ability to create compelling proposals. • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines. • Proficiency in MS Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and donor management software. Knowledge of Donor Perfect would be an assist. • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism, adhering to ethical standards in all aspects of work • Knowledge of fundraising best practices and grant compliance requirements. • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. • Ability to effectively coordinate multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities • Commitment to Harvest Manitoba’s mission of ensuring food security for all. • Knowledge of food-security and poverty issues an asset • Required to have a clear a Criminal Background Check (CRC) • Required to have a valid MB Class 5 driver’s license, and a reliable vehicle is strongly preferred.
