Hatch is seeking highly motivated Documentation Automation Student for an internship to support the Technologies Procurement discipline within our business unit. This role is well suited for a self‑driven individual with strong data skills who is comfortable working autonomously and contributing to process improvement and standardization initiatives. You will support offices globally working from our Mississauga office location. The student will play a key role in analyzing procurement data, supporting automation of standard procurement practices, and helping to build and maintain a structured material catalogue for the business unit. As the successful candidate, you will: Support procurement activities through data analysis, tracking, and reporting Build, maintain, and manage procurement data sets (pricing, vendors, materials, projects) Assist with the automation and standardization of recurring procurement processes, including: Bid evaluations and commercial comparisons Purchase order preparation and tracking Project progress and procurement status reports Contribute to the development and standardization of a material catalogue for the business unit, including item descriptions, classifications, and supplier information Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, data quality, and consistency across procurement workflows Prepare dashboards, reports, and summaries to support decision‑making Collaborate with Procurement, Engineering, and Project Controls teams as required You bring to the role: Enrolled in a diploma or degree program related to Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Analytics, Information Systems, or Technology from an accredited University or College Strong ability to work independently and autonomously, with minimal supervision Solid background in data building, cleaning, and management Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, formulas, structured data) Experience or strong interest in automation tools (e.g. Power BI, Power Automate, VBA, Python, SQL, or similar) Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured processes Clear written and verbal communication skills Exposure to procurement or supply chain processes Experience with ERP or e‑procurement platforms (e.g. SAP, Ariba) Familiarity with cataloguing, material master data, or classification systems Interest in process improvement, digital transformation, or procurement analytics Proactive and solution‑oriented mindset Comfortable managing multiple tasks and priorities Curious, analytical, and eager to learn Strong sense of ownership and accountability Competencies (knowledge, skill, attributes): Good understanding of engineering and business fundamentals as they apply to engineering problems and projects. Ability to learn quickly and to take on new challenges. Collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Shows critical and creative thinking and problem solving and brings forward solutions for our clients' toughest challenges. Adapts and embraces change. Compensation: Range: $24.00 - $33.00 At Hatch, we are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. In accordance with legislated pay transparency requirements, the expected salary range for this position is based on current market data and aligned with internal pay structures to ensure consistency and fairness. Your individual compensation within this range will depend on factors such as skills, experience, qualifications and location.
