Role: Sr. Wordpress Developer Location: Must be based in Canada (available EST hours) Work Arrangement: Remote or hybrid options available Type: Contract As a Senior Wordpress Developer for Havas CX Canada, you will work with the team to develop, maintain and improve new and existing Wordpress websites. You will have to understand all aspects of a Wordpress website, from back end theme development, custom admin pages to front end html and css. Who you are: You have a keen eye for details and tenacity for solving difficult problems You possess strong analytical skills and use data for sound decision-making You bring a positive energy to the team and thrive on strong collaboration You strive for constant improvement in both yourself and your team You are someone others look to for solving difficult problems, bounce ideas off and providing an alternate viewpoint You have a strong understanding of the ins/outs of Wordpress and keep up to-date with where the platform is going Responsibilities: Create/update custom themes and plugins Create/Leverage Custom Blocks and the default WP Editing Blocks to create pages Build and manage WP environments on various server types (GCP, AWS, WPEngine) Maintaining, extending, and enhancing existing code Accurately reproduce provided design/UX as accessible & performant code Following established SDLC processes, policies and guidelines for software development Troubleshoot and correct complex software defects, through troubleshooting, defect fixing Review and approve pull requests of other team members Desired Skills: Strong professional experience with WordPress development Hands-on experience developing custom WordPress themes and plugins Strong PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript skills Experience with Gutenberg and custom WordPress blocks Experience integrating RESTful APIs and creating custom WordPress API endpoints Strong understanding of responsive development, cross-browser compatibility, web accessibility, and performance best practices Experience working with Git-based development workflows Experience with build tools such as NPM, Webpack, or Gulp Ability to troubleshoot and improve existing code Experience working within structured software development and deployment processes Experience with Bootstrap 5+ Experience with AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or WP Engine Experience with Bitbucket, Bitbucket Pipelines, and CI/CD Experience working in an agency or fast-paced digital delivery environment About Havas CX: We are a Digital Marketing and advertising agency.
