Job Title: Field Technician (Junior & Level 1) Location: Vancouver/Toronto/Calgary Duration: 3-6 months Job type: Part-time Rate: CAD20/hr Position Summary We are seeking Junior and Level 1 Field Technicians to support installation, deployment, and maintenance projects across multiple client sites. This is a hands-on field role requiring travel, technical installation experience, and the ability to work in diverse environments including retail, warehouses, data centers, offices, telecommunications facilities, and construction sites. Key Responsibilities Install and support structured cabling, fiber, CCTV, surveillance, and access control systems. Perform rack-and-stack activities, hardware deployments, equipment mounting, and site setups. Assemble and install technology cabinets, charging stations, POS systems, computers, GPS devices, and related infrastructure. Utilize hand and power tools safely while following site procedures and safety standards. Provide status updates, follow project processes, and collaborate effectively with project teams. Support deployments during evenings, weekends, or overnight hours when project requirements demand. Required Qualifications Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle. Ability to travel within a 2-3 hour radius of home location, with occasional travel to other provinces as required. Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and performing physically demanding tasks, including lifting equipment. Must own and maintain required tools and PPE. Strong communication skills, reliability, and ability to work independently or as part of a team. Relevant industry certifications (e.g., work-at-heights, access control, low-voltage or related certifications) are considered an asset. Experience Requirements Junior Field Technician Approximately 1 year of relevant education, apprenticeship, or hands-on experience. Familiarity with technical installations, cabling, and basic field service work. Eager to learn and work alongside senior technicians on client projects. Level 1 Field Technician 3+ years of field technician, low-voltage, electrical, telecommunications, or related experience. Ability to work independently, lead junior technicians, and manage smaller project assignments. Strong experience with cabling, fiber, CCTV, access control, rack-and-stack, and technology deployments. Additional Information Approximately 20 hours per week based on project demand. Flexible, on-call schedule with varying hours. Technicians may maintain other employment due to the part-time nature of the role.
