As the business continues to grow and evolve, it is seeking a strategic and hands-on finance leader to oversee the accounting operations of its flagship properties. Your new role Reporting directly to the Vice President Finance, the Senior Director of Accounting will lead the accounting function for two major commercial properties and oversee a team composed of two Accounting Directors, multiple Property Accountants, and Accounting Technicians. This position combines strong leadership responsibilities with hands-on involvement in financial reporting, business partnering, and operational decision-making. Key responsibilities will include: Leading and mentoring the accounting teams across both properties; Overseeing monthly, quarterly, annual, and consolidated financial reporting; Reviewing budgets, forecasts, variance analyses, and balance sheet reconciliations; Acting as the primary contact for external auditors and year-end processes; Driving process improvements, internal controls, and reporting efficiencies; Providing strategic financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership; Collaborating closely with operations, leasing, asset management, and investment teams; Ensuring consistency, accountability, and best practices across both accounting groups. What you'll need to succeed CPA designation; 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership of large accounting teams; Significant experience within commercial real estate, property management, retail real estate, or a related asset-intensive industry; Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting, consolidated financial statements, budgeting, and financial analysis; Proven ability to manage managers and develop high-performing teams; Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills; Strategic mindset combined with a willingness to remain involved in day-to-day operations; Experience with Yardi and advanced Excel skills is considered strong asset. Ability to work between multiple locations as business needs require.
