Your New Role Our client is seeking a talented Java Developer to join a high-performing technology team supporting an electronic trading platform within the fixed income domain. In this role, you will contribute to both strategic technology initiatives and business-driven enhancements, with a strong focus on automation, algorithm development, and expanding electronic trading capabilities. You will work closely with technology teams and trading stakeholders while taking ownership of projects throughout the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering through deployment. What You'll Need to Succeed 10-15+ years of professional Java development experience (opportunities available at multiple seniority levels). Expert-level Java development skills. Strong object-oriented programming expertise with experience supporting both modern and legacy applications. Ability to work across complex systems and deliver scalable, high-quality software solutions. Basic understanding of Fixed Income products and the ability to collaborate effectively with trading stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a results-oriented mindset. Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Demonstrated ability to work with AI agents and modern AI-enabled development tools. Nice to Have Scala experience. Python development experience. Previous experience within financial services, capital markets, or trading environments. Interest in learning and adopting emerging technologies and AI solutions.
