Job summary
Role and Facility Information We’re looking for a psychiatrist to join our team at Penticton Regional Hospital, offering a flexible and balanced practice in a supportive community setting in the South Okanagan Valley, surrounded by lakes, vineyards, and year-round outdoor recreation. You will become part of a collegial and supportive group of four psychiatrists delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care. Our 16-bed Inpatient Psychiatric Unit provides acute mental health and substance use services within a modern, safe, and accessible facility. In addition, you will work alongside well-established outpatient and community-based programs, including Short Term Counselling, Community Case Management, Vocational Rehabilitation, Physical Activation, Anxiety and Depression services, DBT programming, Seniors Mental Health, and Rural Outreach, allowing for a diverse and fulfilling scope of practice across the continuum of care. This role offers a high degree of clinical autonomy, with flexibility in how you structure your outpatient practice, including appointment lengths for consultations and follow-ups. Call responsibilities are shared within the group, with a collegial approach to scheduling. The current model supports approximately one in five coverage. You will be well supported with dedicated administrative resources and office space.
