Regulated by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS), PAs collect and interpret medical information, make appropriate clinical decisions, and carry out diagnostic and therapeutic interventions within a formalized Physician/PA relationship agreement approved by the CPSS. Experience * Clinical experience working as a PA in a related clinical field, is an asset Education * Completion of an accredited PA degree program recognized by PACCC Licenses * Membership and Licensure in good standing with the CPSS as a PA; or * (May be asked to provide proof of meeting maintenance of certification) * Physician Assistant - Certified (PA-C) through the NCCPA. * Eligible for registration with CPSS (for applicants outside of Saskatchewan). * Canadian Certified Physician Assistant (CCPA) through PACCC Memberships * Canadian Association of Physician Assistants Competencies * Advanced - Communication skills * Intermediate - Computer skills * Advanced - Interpersonal skills * Intermediate - Mobilizes people, inspires and leads by example * Advanced - Analytical skills * Advanced - Technical skills Knowledge and Abilities * Committed to delivering on patient and family centred care * Ability to work independently * Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team * Commitment to a diverse, representative workforce and cultural safety * Exemplifies ethical practices, professionalism and personal integrity * Demonstrated written and spoken competence in English language * Ability to treat patients with compassion and empathy * Commitment to quality, safety, and improvement striving towards zero harm Other Information * Advanced Cardiac Life Support certificate (ACLS) an asset * Pediatric Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (PALS) an asset * Standby may be required. * Travel within Saskatchewan * Current ATLS Certification (Advanced Trauma Life Support), is an asset * For more information on the city of Saskatoon please visit https://www.saskatoon.ca/ [https://www.saskatoon.ca/] * May provide services to acute and long term care sites as required * Preference to HSAS members as per the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement This role presents a unique opportunity for those interested in combining clinical practice with academic leadership. Requirements
Candidates must have an accredited PA degree and licensure in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan. Certification through NCCPA or PACCC is required or eligible.
