The RPN/RN is responsible to the Manager of their designated area. The RPN/RN should have foundational knowledge of a holistic model of care that guides the work of a mental health nurse. The RPN/RN should be proficient in de-escalation strategies, conflict resolution, and the ethical and trauma informed responsibilities required to serve a vulnerable population ranging from youth to geriatric patients. The RPN/RN should be comfortable with client advocacy while working with an interdisciplinary team. The RPN/RN should be flexible in the assigned environment and patient assignment throughout the acute in-patient facility. Requirements
Candidates must hold a Bachelor Degree or Diploma in Psychiatric Nursing or Nursing and be registered or eligible for registration with the CRNS or CRPNS. Additionally, applicants are required to possess Basic Life Support (BLS) and Professional Assault Response Training (PART) certifications.
