Inherent in this role are knowledge, skills, and abilities specific to health promotion, prevention, and protection. This employee focuses on the immunization program for adults, high risk individuals and international travelers and works relatively independently. The Public Health Nurse works within guidelines established by Health Region policy to plan, organize, implement and evaluate nursing programs in an assigned area, under the direction and supervision of a Public Health Nursing supervisor. Candidates must hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) and be registered or eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS). A minimum of two years of recent relevant experience in public health nursing and experience with diverse immunizations are required.
