Union: HSAS Facility: Surgical Assessment Centre - Regina City/Town: Regina Department: Surgery Specialty Clinic Type: Full-time regular FTE: 1 Shift Information: Days Number of Hours per Rotation: 14 shifts of 8 hours per 3 weeks Relief: No Float: No Hours of Work: Standard Hours Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Physical Therapist - Degree Senior $43.402 to $53.195 Travel Required: No Job Description: Reporting to the Manager, The Physical Therapist – Degree - Senior will act as the clinical leader for the Saskatchewan Surgical Pathways. The incumbent will provide support and direction to the physical therapist(s) - degree, as well as participating in the assessment, treatment, education and evaluation for Spinal Patients and Orthopedic Patients in an outpatient setting. The Physical Therapist – Degree - Senior will work closely and collaboratively with the referring Primary Care Practitioner, Orthopedic Surgeons, and Spine Surgeons to ensure continuity and high-quality care. Human Resources Exemption: No Experience * Two (2) years experience in assessment and treatment of Spinal Patients * Two (2) years’ exp in assessment and treatment of Spinal or Orthopedic patients Education * Bachelor Degree in Physical Therapy Other Education and Training * Current CPR Level C * Level 3 Cert. in Advances Orthopedic Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy Competencies * Decision making skills * Problem solving skills Knowledge and Abilities * Knowledge and understanding of the Four Patterns of Low Back Pain * Flexible and adaptive approach to treatment of complex orthopedic patients * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Ability to integrate ideas into a team treatment approach * Ability to initiate and exercise critical thinking and decision-making * Ability to employ biopsychosocial approach in provisional care to patients * Flexible and adaptive approach to treatment of complex spinal patients * Communicates effectively with patients, families and other health professionals * Good working knowledge of the continuum of Spinal Care * Knowledge of community resources * Knowledge of the mechanisms of osteoarthritis and evidence-based treatments * Ability to plan, organize/coordinate efforts with other team members * Requires coping skills to work w/clients dealing with stress/psychosocial issues * Ability to work independently and in collaboration with others as required * ability to communicate effectively with staff, physicians, families. Requirements
Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy and possess at least two years of experience in spinal or orthopedic patient care. Additionally, applicants require current CPR Level C certification and Level 3 certification in Advanced Orthopedic Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy.
