Heidelberg Materials has a future job opening for a paid Quality Control Intern / Co-Op placement. This placement term is expected to run from approximately May 2027 to December 2027. What You'll Be Doing Perform routine laboratory testing and document results accurately. Support concrete plant batch testing and quality control activities. Collect, prepare, and test material samples in accordance with established procedures. Maintain organized testing records and provide general administrative support. Collaborate with the Quality Control team to support daily operations and key Ottawa area projects. What Are We Looking For Currently enrolled in a relevant college or university internship or co-op program, such as civil engineering, construction materials, or a related field. Ability to follow testing procedures, safety requirements, and quality standards. Strong attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accurate testing records. Effective communication, organization, and teamwork skills. Hold a valid Ontario G driver's license and maintain a driving record that meets company requirements, as travel between job sites and plant locations may be required. Work Environment This position supports Heidelberg Materials' ready-mix concrete operations in the Ottawa area. Work will be completed in a combination of laboratory, concrete plant, office, and project-site environments. The role may involve working outdoors in varying weather conditions and around active industrial operations, with occasional work required outside of normal business hours, including early mornings, overnight hours, and weekends. Required personal protective equipment and safety training will be provided. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced Quality Control professionals while gaining exposure to both routine operations and major construction projects.
