You’re mechanically inclined, hands-on, and the kind of person who likes figuring out how things work. You may not have a trade ticket, but you’re comfortable around tools and equipment and take pride in keeping things organized, maintained, and running properly. At Hercules, you’ll build on those skills through a mix of mechanical work, equipment maintenance, shop support, and deliveries. You’ll start with guidance from the team and have the opportunity to take on more independence and responsibility as your skills develop. If you’re dependable, mechanically minded, and looking for an opportunity to learn and grow in an industrial environment, we want to hear from you. What You’ll Do This is a varied, hands-on role supporting the day-to-day operation of our Truro shop. You’ll: * Tear down and reassemble hydraulic cylinders and gearboxes. * Perform general machinery maintenance under the direction of the Shop Supervisor. * Maintain and organize the tool crib, monitor inventory, and reorder supplies based on shop needs. * Cut raw materials for customer jobs using bandsaws. * Complete customer deliveries, including safely towing an 18-foot trailer. * Operate a forklift; certification can be provided after hire. * Keep company fleet vehicles clean and organized, inside and out. * Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment. * Serve as the shop’s OHS Representative, including completing monthly safety inspections and helping identify and address day-to-day safety risks. * Participate in the Hercules Training Division safety committee. OHS Representative training will be provided after hire. What You Bring We’re looking for mechanical aptitude and the right attitude—not necessarily a formal trade qualification. * Hands-on mechanical aptitude and practical troubleshooting skills. * Comfortable working with tools, machinery, and mechanical components. * A self-taught or “backyard mechanic” background is welcome. * Valid Class 3 driver’s license and ability to safely tow an 18-foot trailer. * Strong organization and attention to detail. * Ability to work independently with minimal supervision once trained. * A safety-minded approach and willingness to take on OHS responsibilities. * Dependability and punctuality, particularly when coordinating customer deliveries. * Ability to safely lift up to 55 lbs. Even Better If You Have * Experience rebuilding hydraulic cylinders or gearboxes. * Previous industrial, mechanical, maintenance, or shop experience. * Forklift experience or certification. Don’t have forklift or OHS Representative certification yet? That’s okay—we’ll provide the required training after you join us. What to Expect This is primarily an in-shop position, with periodic driving for customer deliveries. You’ll work in a hands-on industrial environment that may involve exposure to hydraulic fluids, grease, solvents, machinery, and typical shop hazards. Delivery work may also involve outdoor work in changing weather conditions. Occasional travel outside the local area may be required, but it is not a regular part of the position. What We Offer * Competitive compensation based on experience * Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM schedule * 5% Registered Pension Plan (RPP) matching * Comprehensive health and dental benefits * Forklift and OHS Representative training as required * Personal and professional development opportunities * Opportunities to develop your mechanical and industrial skills * A supportive, safety-first team environment * Long-term career opportunities within a national organization that promotes from within * Employee parking Why Hercules?
