Job summary
POSITION DESCRIPTION The Millwright is a key position of the manufacturing team and will be responsible for, but not limited to the following: PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES * Install, maintain and troubleshoot and repair machinery * Execute preventative maintenance programs and document activities * Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical drive systems * Conducting inspections of all mechanical equipment and tools * Providing preventative maintenance for equipment and machines * Inspecting tools and machines for deficiencies * Collaborating with production staff and operators to proactively reduce downtime * Updating and maintaining maintenance records * Coordinating outside contractor activities * Reading, understanding, and following all safe work practices for machinery and equipment * Understand company safety regulations and relevant occupational health and safety legislation * Reading and interpreting blueprints and mechanical drawings and equipment manuals * Assist supervisors in scheduling work and determining needs for equipment * Source and prepare parts for repair and maintenance tasks * Participation in 5s, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and other continuous improvement initiatives * Perform other duties as assigned ADDITIONAL JOB DUTIES * 5-S and cleaning/maintaining of work area cleanliness * Adhere to all company policies, procedures and health and safety requirements * Any other duties as assigned EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND REQUIRED * Minimum high school completion * Must have a Millwright Certification/License * Electrical experience is an asset * Technical knowledge WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED * 1-2 yrs experience assembling small components/hardware installation in a manufacturing environment * Working knowledge of industrial electrical and electronic systems CORE COMPETENCIES/REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB * Strong mathematical, verbal and written communications skills * Excellent time keeping/attendance habits. Motivated with a “can-do” attitude * Ability to work with co-workers and external contacts in a positive and professional manner * Positive, can-do attitude/initiative; team-focused with ability to work collaboratively * Ability to work with minimal supervision * Natural focus on health and safety, continuous improvement and producing a high-quality product in the most efficient manner possible PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF THE JOB: * Position involves sitting for long periods of time * Repetitive work * Physically able to meet the demands of the role, including lifting, climbing and working in confined spaces * Lifting and maneuvering of parts weighing approximately 10-30 lbs
