Role Description The Commercial Project Manager (Construction) is a full-time, on-site role based in Calgary, AB. This role is responsible for overseeing commercial construction projects from planning through completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality and safety standards. Day-to-day activities include developing project schedules, tracking progress, coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders, and managing contracts and change orders. The Commercial Project Manager will prepare and monitor budgets, review invoices, and support financial reporting related to each project. The role also involves conducting site meetings, resolving issues that may impact timelines or costs, and maintaining clear communication with clients, consultants, and subcontractors. Qualifications Strong analytical skills to interpret project data, assess risks, and support decision-making. Effective communication skills for coordinating with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams. Experience with budgeting and finance to develop, track, and report on project costs. Proficiency in contract management, including reviewing, negotiating, and administering construction contracts and change orders. Relevant experience in commercial construction project management, ideally in a general contractor or developer environment. Knowledge of construction methodologies, building codes, and safety standards. Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and follow-through. Post-secondary education in construction management, engineering, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Proficiency with project management and construction software (e.g., MS Project, scheduling tools, and cost control systems). Ability to work on-site in Calgary, AB, and collaborate effectively in a team-focused environment.
