Overview Hexagon's Autonomous Solutions, is looking for a Positioning Services Intern to join our high-tech engineering and manufacturing company for the period of May 3 2027 to May 2, 2028. In this position, you will have the opportunity to work with both the network processing team to generate GNSS corrections, and collaborate with the positioning engine team to use those corrections for real time positioning applications. You will assist to develop and test this positioning services software from end-to-end, and through this, build a deeper understanding of error sources that impact GNSS positioning. Our industry-leading global and regional correction services are broadcast via satellite and TCP/IP and used by marine, agricultural and automotive industries. The Location: Hexagon is a global company with offices around the world. This position is based in Calgary, Alberta. Responsibilities As our Positioning Services Intern, responsibilities include: Work with industry-leading experts to develop and test end-to-end GNSS positioning solutions, from correction computation to positioning. Plan and execute data collections to support investigations into existing and new technologies. Perform formal and exploratory testing, troubleshooting failures and investigating issues. Contribute to test documentation, including the design, specifications, runs, results, and compliance to requirements. Provide statistical and graphical analyses on performance data and product functionality. Develop tools to analyse and visualize positioning and correction performance. Manage development environments, correction and monitoring software installation, maintenance and monitoring. Update engineering documentation to create system knowledge and enhance product robustness. Qualifications Must-Have: Registered in the Engineering Internship/Co-op program and have completed at least your 2nd or 3rd year of studies by the start of your work term; Masters and PhD students are also eligible. Enrolled in Electrical, Computer, Software, Geomatics Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics at a recongized post secondary institution. Available for a minimum 12 month work term, 37.5 hours a week. Strong academic credentials. Strong communication skills, both oral and written. Key Success Factors: Able to work in a collaborative distributed team environment. Confident self-starter. Able to visualize and organize information from a complex, multi-program software system. Detail oriented person able to follow complex instructions with a “first-time right” attitude. Motivated by challenging work. You are comfortable working individually but know when to ask for help. Nice-to-Have: Knowledge of GPS/GNSS/INS. Knowledge of estimation methods. Experience with both Windows and Linux.
