Evaluate process systems, operating data and facility constraints and develop optimisation, debottlenecking, troubleshooting and brownfield modification solutions. Provide process input to control philosophies, control narratives, shutdown keys, cause-and-effect documentation and multidisciplinary design deliverables. Coordinate with clients, Project Managers, discipline leads, vendors, fabricators, construction teams and operations personnel to resolve technical and execution issues. Review vendor quotations, calculations, drawings and specifications for technical adequacy and compliance with project requirements. Define process scope, deliverables, work-hour estimates, schedules and resource requirements and monitor progress, changes, budget and quality. Support proposals, studies, technical bid evaluations, procurement, field investigations, construction queries, commissioning and start-up activities. Provide technical guidance, checking, mentoring and work allocation for process engineers and junior team members. Education, Professional Registration & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or an equivalent engineering discipline. Current Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registration with APEGA and ability to authenticate applicable process engineering documents. Minimum 10 years of progressive process engineering experience within an industrial, energy, EPC or EPCM environment. Demonstrated experience leading process engineering scope and deliverables on multi-disciplinary projects. Strong oil and gas or industrial process design experience, including process simulation, equipment sizing, hydraulics, relief systems and flare or depressurization analysis. Proficiency with Aspen HYSYS, VMGSim or Symmetry, ProMax or comparable process simulation software. Working knowledge of applicable provincial regulations, industry codes and standards, including relevant API relief-system requirements. Experience with process-safety reviews, process control documentation, technical procurement and vendor review. Experience supporting projects through construction, commissioning, start-up, field troubleshooting or operating-facility modifications. Strong client-interface, technical writing, leadership, organization, analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities, lead small teams and deliver accurate work within budget and schedule commitments. Legally entitled to work in Canada and able to travel to client, vendor and project sites as required.
