Job summary

A leading organisation developing next-generation satellite communications infrastructure is seeking an experienced Senior Network Management System Developer to play a key role in the design, development, and evolution of advanced network management capabilities supporting a large-scale communications network. This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex, mission-critical systems, leading the development of scalable, secure, and standards-based Network Management System (NMS) solutions. You will work within a collaborative Agile environment, taking ownership of technical challenges while helping shape the future architecture of an advanced communications platform. Key Responsibilities Lead the design, development, and analysis of Network Management System (NMS) applications for managing complex network infrastructure. Collaborate with external technology partners to evaluate and integrate NMS solutions aligned with industry standards and emerging technologies. Produce and maintain high-quality technical documentation supporting system architecture, design, and implementation. Develop YANG data models supporting resource, service, fault, and performance management. Investigate and resolve complex technical and network implementation issues through structured analysis and cross-functional collaboration. Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks supporting validation and CI/CD pipelines. Define and implement security standards to ensure system integrity and compliance. Contribute to system-level modelling, interface definitions, and operational concepts. Work closely with software, systems, networking, and operations teams to ensure successful integration across the wider platform. Identify opportunities to improve system architecture, performance, scalability, and operational efficiency. Required Experience & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline. Approximately 12+ years' experience developing Network Management Systems or similar telecommunications software. Strong understanding of the design principles behind standards-based, interoperable NMS platforms. Experience with network management protocols and modelling technologies including: NETCONF / RESTCONF, gRPC / gNMI, gNOI, YANG, UML Strong software engineering experience within complex networking or telecommunications environments. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex technical challenges. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Desirable Experience Experience with any of the following would be advantageous: TM Forum Open Digital Architecture (ODA) TM Forum eTOM Framework TM Forum Open APIs Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) MEF Lifecycle Service Orchestration (LSO APIs) Agile SAFe delivery environments Satellite communications, telecommunications, or large-scale IP networking environments.
