Job details

The Role As our Quality Control Manager, you will run our Quality Control System and lead a QC team of 4–5 in Oakville. You will make sure every boiler, pressure vessel, and piping assembly we build meets ASME Code and CSA nuclear standards — from the first ITP to the final documentation package — and you will be our quality voice with production, customers, and Authorized Inspectors. What You Will Do Lead and develop the QC team, and plan and track inspections across multiple active jobs. Prepare and revise ITPs, NDE matrices, weld and NDE maps, and PMI checklists. Perform and oversee dimensional, fit-up, visual, and weld inspections, and review NDE, hydrotest, and PWHT requirements. Qualify welding procedures (WPS/PQR) and welders (WPQ), and track weld repairs, welder performance, and consumables. Raise and close NCRs, run internal audits, and write SOPs and work instructions. Coordinate witness and hold points with customer inspectors and TSSA Authorized Inspectors. Compile and sign off final documentation packages for our clients. What You Bring A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, or equivalent. CWB Level 2 Welding Inspector certification. Senior-level quality experience in pressure vessel fabrication, nuclear and non-nuclear. Detailed knowledge of ASME Sections I, V, VIII, and IX, CSA N285.0 and N299, and NDE methods. Experience leading people and technical projects, and the confidence to hold the quality line under schedule pressure. Clear communication with production teams, customers, suppliers, and inspectors. Nice to Have Experience working with TSSA Authorized Inspectors and customer source inspectors. Experience writing SOPs and work instructions. Strong presentation and computer skills. Why Hooper A salary of $125,000–$145,000, plus health benefits, vacation, RRSP, bonus, and other compensation. A leadership role in a growing nuclear supplier, with real ownership of quality. A company with more than 70 years of history and a strong growth plan.
