If you’re hardworking, safety-minded, and eager to learn, this is a great opportunity to build a long-term career in arboriculture. **Your Role** As a **Tree Care Apprentice/Labourer**, you’ll work alongside skilled arborists and arborist Foremen while learning all aspects of Groundsperson duties. This role is hands-on, physical, and outdoors every day, with a strong focus on safety, teamwork, and professional conduct. **What You’ll Do** - Safely complete tasks as assigned by the Arborist or Foreperson on site - Learn and perform Groundsperson duties, including: - - General site cleanup (raking, chipping, debris removal) - Safely operating chippers and saws - Maintaining tools and equipment (sharpening, greasing, oiling) - Learning emergency procedures and safety protocols, including boom operation - Participate in safety meetings and toolbox talks - Wear required personal protective equipment at all times - Act as a **Company Ambassador**when in uniform by: - - Maintaining a polite, professional attitude - Providing excellent customer service - Being courteous to clients and the public - Maintaining an orderly appearance **What You Bring** **Education & Certifications** - Valid Driver’s License (Class 7N or higher) - Secondary School completion considered an asset - Post-secondary education in horticulture considered an asset - Traffic Control Person certification considered an asset **Experience** - Experience working outdoors in all weather preferred - Experience in a physical, fast-paced, safety-oriented environment **Skills & Abilities** - Safety-minded with strong situational awareness - Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills - Strong problem-solving abilities - Clear verbal communication skills - Ability to work effectively with crew members and supervisors - Comfortable working as part of a team **Physical Requirements** This role is **100% labour-based**.
