Job summary

Horizon Recruitment is partnering with an established manufacturing organization to recruit a Raw Material Qualification Program Manager. This newly created role will lead the qualification and approval of raw materials and suppliers, ensuring products meet quality, regulatory, and commercial requirements before entering production. Working across procurement, quality, regulatory, product development, and operations, you'll coordinate multiple qualification projects simultaneously while helping strengthen supplier governance, reduce supply risk, and support new product introductions. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys managing complex cross-functional initiatives in a highly regulated manufacturing environment. Responsibilities: Lead the qualification and approval process for new raw materials and suppliers from initial evaluation through production release. Coordinate cross-functional activities to ensure qualification projects remain on schedule and support business and product launch timelines. Partner with procurement, quality, regulatory, planning, and product development teams to resolve technical and commercial requirements. Review supplier documentation, specifications, certifications, and compliance records to confirm materials meet internal and regulatory standards. Manage qualification records, project tracking tools, and status reporting to provide visibility on project progress and key milestones. Support the review of material specifications, testing requirements, and quality documentation in collaboration with laboratory and quality teams. Coordinate material and supplier change activities, ensuring appropriate approvals and documentation are completed. Develop risk-based approaches for supplier and material qualification to strengthen supply continuity and compliance. Prepare reports, dashboards, and project updates for leadership and key stakeholders. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Nutrition, or another related scientific discipline. 5+ years of experience in procurement, quality, technical operations, supply chain, or project management within a regulated manufacturing environment. Experience leading cross-functional projects involving multiple stakeholders and competing priorities. Working knowledge of quality systems, supplier qualification, regulatory compliance, and manufacturing standards such as GMP or HACCP. Ability to review technical documentation, specifications, and supplier compliance records. Strong project management, organization, and stakeholder communication skills. Analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving. Formal project management training or certification (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, or similar) is considered an asset. Remuneration: $95,000 - $110,000
