The Davis Controls team also holds a strong position in the Canadian Instrumentation and Controls markets while representing a strong portfolio of exceptional products that deliver reliable and cost effective solutions. Summary: The Technical Sales Representative is responsible for driving revenue growth and expanding Davis Controls Ltd.’s presence within the Canadian automation and process markets. As a self-motivated, quick-learning, and results-oriented professional, the incumbent will identify new business opportunities, develop and strengthen customer relationships, and deliver tailored solutions that support client needs. This role plays a key part in enhancing customer experience, increasing market share, and supporting the Sales and Service teams by streamlining business development activities, improving operational efficiency, and contributing to the overall growth and success of the Oakville operation. Ideally the candidate will reside in Georgina/Sutton, Stouffville, North York, and Nobleton Ontario or within the area encompassed between these cities (the sales territory). This is a remote role, but there is an expectation of high customer engagement In-Person within the sales territory. ​ Duties and Responsibilities: Live and demonstrate the company’s purpose and values by delivering an exceptional customer experience grounded in integrity, accountability, respect, and continuous improvement, while achieving personal and professional growth. ​ Develop and execute strategic sales and growth plans to expand Davis Controls’ market presence, customer base, and revenue across its product and solution portfolio. ​ Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities across targeted industries. ​ Actively follow up on proposals, quotations, and sales opportunities to drive conversion and revenue growth. ​ Maintain a strong pipeline and provide accurate forecasting of bookings and revenue. ​ Expand market share within existing accounts while developing new customer relationships. ​ Respond to customer order reminders and proactively manage project timelines. ​ Provide technical guidance on system sizing, product selection, and application suitability. ​ Assist with project documentation including submittals, drawings, specifications, and compliance documentation. ​ Maintain organized records of opportunities, customer interactions, and project progress within CRM systems. ​ Perform other duties as assigned by management to support business objectives.​ Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities: Postsecondary education in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Instrumentation, Process Automation, or a related technical discipline; an equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience will also be considered. ​ Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive business development, technical sales, or account management experience within industrial process industries and customers. ​ Proven track record of developing new business, growing market share, and achieving or exceeding sales targets. ​ Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as required to support customers and business growth initiatives.​ Possess a valid driving license and favorable drivers abstract. Excellent business development, prospecting, and relationship-building skills. ​ Strong consultative selling and negotiation capabilities.​ Solid technical aptitude with the ability to understand and communicate product features, system solutions, and application requirements. ​ Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities effectively. ​ Effective proposal preparation, project follow-up, and documentation skills. ​ Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. ​ Proficiency in CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and sales reporting tools.​ Key Working Relationships: Work closely with our Sales and Service Team Members to provide reliable and quality service to our customers. ​ Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with customers by providing responsive, knowledgeable, and solutions-oriented support throughout the sales cycle. ​ Communicate effectively with management regarding pipeline development, sales performance, market trends, and strategic growth opportunities. ​ Contribute to a collaborative team environment by sharing customer insights, competitive intelligence, and best practices to support continuous improvement and business success.​ Benefits: Company events Dental care Employee assistance program Extended health care Life insurance On-site parking Paid time off RRSP match Education reimbursement Vision care
