Summary: The Technical Sales Representative will focus on working alongside and under the direction of the Director of Sales. This role will leverage industry and applications experience to influence and maximize the sales of several products and services. Westech provides solutions across Canada to various industries. This role interacts regularly with inside and outside sales representatives as well as customers across the country. Ideally the candidate will reside in Hamilton, Oakville or Kitchener. This is a remote role, but there is an expectation of high customer engagement In-Person within the sales territory. Responsible for the establishment, maintenance and growth of professional business relationships with customers. Prospects, qualifies, develops, and closes potential new customer accounts and sales opportunities. Maintains a high degree of product and application knowledge along with industry knowledge and awareness, including trends, technology advancement, significant accomplishments by others in the business, state of the competition, significant events related to our business and the customers' businesses. Maintains comprehensive customer support with a primary base on customer retention. Establishes relationships, builds rapport to assist with influencing customer preference and specifications to include actuation products and services. Works with multiple departments and support staff to provide customer solutions quickly and efficiently. Add new business opportunities, detail customer sales meetings and record customer contact information within the CRM. Manage customer expectations relative to deliverables and timeframes. Embody and instill in others the company culture and commitment to quality and a safe and healthy workplace for all. Qualifications and Education: Education Technical degree or diploma is preferred and considered an ASSET Previous industry experience will be considered as an equivalent combination of education and experience. Qualifications: Strong knowledge of process industry applications, operations, and technology. Minimum 5+ years of proven technical sales experience in the process control industry. Excellent network of current industry contacts is preferred and considered an ASSET Demonstrated ability to interface with, influence, and negotiate effectively with technical decision-makers and customer stakeholders at all organizational levels. Strong prospecting and opportunity development skills, with innovative selling and service techniques. Analytical and creative problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong presentation abilities. Strong technical aptitude with the ability to evaluate product applications and alternative solutions. Excellent customer service skills, including the ability to build rapport, establish trust, and foster long-term customer relationships. Strong interpersonal skills, including active listening, acknowledgment, questioning, and discovery techniques. Self-motivated with a strong drive, initiative, and results-oriented approach. Strong information management and computer skills. Demonstrated self-management skills, including professionalism, accountability, and dependability Working Conditions: This position has high travel requirements to customer sites; must be able to tolerate conditions associated with travelling.
