Job summary
Responsibilities Pay: CA$28.00 - CA$32.00 per hour This posting is to fill a newly created position. Position Overview: This position is primarily responsible for performing the welding of aluminum components to fabricate or repair products or parts according to layouts, blueprints, or work orders using the welding equipment provided by the company. Ensures that parts are welded according to customer specifications following Howmet Aerospace procedures. Duties/Responsabilities Repairs defects on castings by welding as per required specifications. Welding tool and equipment care and maintenance Router and weld map documentation completed to the Quality Management system standard. Adjusts the welding equipment for the type of repairs required (location and thickness) and performs a high-quality weld following the proper welding technique. Follows all the necessary safety measures in performing the work and informs co-workers of any safety precautions. Performs pre and post weld blend and preparation operations on castings using hand and bench mounted tools as required. Ensures that all the required documents of the router have been stamped and signed when the welding repairs have been completed. Performs other duties as required. Qualifications REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES Aluminum TIG welding experience Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
