This role entails loading and operating sandblasting equipment to clean and prepare steel to desired finishes. Job Duties & Responsibilities Loads bags of sand. Uses sandblasting equipment to clean, smooth, or roughen surfaces by directing high-pressure abrasive materials (sand), at the steel. Ensures the sandblasting process is carried out correctly and meets quality standards. Cleans up the work area after sandblasting operations are completed to ensure a safe and orderly environment. Cross-trains and performs the work of other job tasks as directed. Job Qualifications: Highschool – grade 10/11 or equivalent. General industrial/manufacturing experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to work with various hand tools and operate an industrial powered fork truck. Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis. Ability to meet the physical and sensory demands of the position. Core Competencies: Communication Teamwork Attention to Detail Contacts: Primarily internal shop staff to exchange information. Effort (Physical & Sensory): Continuous standing (8-10 hours per day and up to 6 days a week) Regular walking, sitting, reaching, climbing or balancing, using fine motor skills; and stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Regular lifting and/or moving material (50 lb) Regular vision/sensory demands: close, distance, peripheral, depth, and ability to adjust focus. Extremely repetitive tasks. Working Conditions: Be exposed to various environmental conditions, such as extreme temperatures, fumes, chemicals, odours, noise and vibration (>80%) Sandblasting tasks are notably hot and dirty in nature. Operate machinery, forklifts, and other industrial equipment (<50%) Work at heights (<50%) Wear safety devices, clothing or other safety procedures (e.g., harnesses, safety goggles, ear protection and steel-toed boots) (>80%) At Epsilon Industries Inc, you'll find not only a job but a purposeful and fulfilling career.
