Crew Member – Landscape Construction Hutten Land & Shore Owen Sound, ON $19–$22/hour, based on experience Shape our rugged landscape. You like working with your hands. You don’t mind getting dirty. And you take pride in seeing something built from the ground up. As a Crew Member – Landscape Construction, you’ll help transform outdoor spaces into finished projects — patios, walkways, retaining walls, decks, plantings, and more. This role is physical, fast-paced, and rewarding for someone who enjoys being outside and part of a team building something real. This is hands-on, outdoor work — done alongside a high-performing team that values craftsmanship, accountability, and growth. What You’ll Be Responsible For Project Execution Work safely and responsibly with strong participation and initiative Assist with the construction of patios, walkways, walls, fences, decks, and structural landscape features Dig trenches and perform land clearing activities Plant and maintain garden beds and lawns Read and follow landscape designs and instructions Communicate professionally and courteously with customers Quality Workmanship Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment Transport materials using shovels, wheelbarrows, carts, dollies, and hand lifting Operate tools including chainsaws, jackhammers, laser levels, measuring equipment, drills, and hand tools Periodically operate heavy equipment such as skid steer, excavator, and loader as directed Work efficiently to meet estimated job hours while maintaining Hutten quality standards Equipment & Site Care Maintain cleanliness and organization of trucks, trailers, job sites, and yard Perform daily preventative maintenance of tools and equipment (inspection, lubrication, cleaning) What Success Looks Like Quality landscape projects completed safely and efficiently Estimated vs. actual job hours respected Daily clean and equipment care standards upheld Growth in skill, professionalism, and teamwork Customers who are proud of the final result Who This Role Is Perfect For You value the Hutten philosophy and team-first culture You enjoy physically demanding work You’re prepared to work in hot, cold, and wet weather You enjoy a fast pace and working outdoors You’re comfortable with power tools You can solve general math problems and follow measurements You can read and follow landscape designs You have a valid driver’s license You’re willing to grow and learn The Seasonality Landscape Construction typically runs from early spring through late fall or early winter, depending on weather conditions.
