This role coordinates field aspects of Autonomous Operations Reliability and advises the control center to optimize fleet and individual truck performance. This role directly advances IMG’s purpose by improving safety, efficiency, and reliability in autonomous mining. By enabling real-time, data-informed decisions and continuous performance optimization, the technician helps maximize asset productivity while supporting innovative, sustainable operations. Responsibilities Coordinate daily pit operations to support safe, efficient, and productive autonomous mining activities. Conduct AOZ surveys, field inspections, incident investigations, and establish safe work zones to maintain operational safety. Ensure Autonomous Haulage System (AHS) activities comply with regulatory requirements, mine standards, and operational procedures. Monitor autonomous truck performance, identify abnormal operating conditions, and communicate maintenance and optimization requirements. Troubleshoot autonomous equipment issues, perform system resets, execute recovery procedures, and verify correct operating modes. Investigate equipment stoppages and system faults while maintaining accurate records and monitoring key performance indicators. Optimize Autonomous Mine Truck (AMT) performance through system configuration, proactive issue identification, and continuous field monitoring. Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to enhance safety, productivity, quality, cost efficiency, and sustainability. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve operational challenges and improve equipment reliability. Communicate effectively with stakeholders, maintain detailed operational logs, and support organizational objectives. Mentor and support new team members by sharing knowledge, best practices, and operational guidance. Job Qualifications Key Skills & Knowledge: Grade 12 diploma or equivalent required. Post-secondary education in Mine Engineering, Robotics, Autonomous Systems, or a related field is considered an asset. Relevant technical knowledge, problem-solving abilities, and an interest in autonomous mining technology are considered assets. Relevant Experience 5+ years of experience in an open-pit mining environment and/or autonomous operations environment. Previous experience with Autonomous Mining Systems is highly desirable, but not essential. Skills & Strengths, We Value Advanced computer literacy. Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) Ability to work under pressure. Sound knowledge of open pit mining fundamentals and autonomous mining operations.
